Quantum Computers Are A Tool Of Destruction, Not Creation, Says Leading Physicist

Quantum computers are a tool of destruction, not creation, according to Alexander Lvovsky, Quantum Optics group leader at the Russian Quantum Center and Professor of Physics at the University of Calgary in Canada. All the sensitive data sent over the internet is encrypted in order to protect the privacy of the parties involved, but quantum computers can make modern cryptography obsolete.

Quantum computers can process information at unprecedented speed and solve certain types of complex problems that conventional computers find intractable. But with such a powerful tool, no encryption existing today would be able to hide from its processing power. Lvovsky says “medical records, financial information, even the secrets of governments and military organizations would be free for the taking—meaning that the entire world order could be threatened by this technology.”

  1. Quantum computers – like other computers are just tools.

A computer enabled your high school nemesis to post that really embarassing photo of you at a party. Another computer helps your doctor avoid prescribing something you’re allergic to.

As usual, the real problem is people, not computers. :(

  2. With as much knowledge gained in last two decades surpassing all mankind’s knowledge since the wheel and fire for many thousands of years because of computers the idea to stop advancement is quite silly. Reminds when cars first came out people got tickets for exceeding 5 mph. “no encryption existing today would be able to hide”. So invent one with the same tech ability you have in the first place.

“entire world order could be threatened by this technology.” Hello. This has been happening for last 50 years so the entire world order has indeed changed.

” “medical records, financial information, even the secrets of governments and military organizations would be free for the taking”. That can be fixed be reverse tech by writing such things on paper and kept in a secure place.
