Spike S-512: The First Ever Supersonic Business Jet Features Windowless Cabin

In an attempt to subdue and never to let a thing like ‘lag’ happen, Spike Aerospace is introducing the first ever supersonic business jet known as Spike S-512.

Not sure how fast the S-512 can soar up into the air, but for an aircraft with a cruising speed of Mach 1.6 (1217.93 miles per hour) which is twice faster than any commercial airliners, the ideal speed required for take-off must be totally out of my perception – for Boeing 737, it’s about 160-180 miles per hour.

The S-512 can fly at a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 (1370.17 miles per hour). This will make any passengers flying from NYC to reach London in just 3-4 hours which actually takes 6-7 hours in typical airliners. LA to Tokyo in 8 hours instead of 14-16 hours.

The S-512 will feature a windowless cabin, because without widows, there will be less drag (air resistance) and more speed. The aircraft will have video screens embedded in the interior walls and cameras installed on the fuselage, so that the passengers can catch sight of the real-time panoramic view of what’s on the outside.

The time for delivery of the aircraft is expected to be in 5-7 years. It’s only a matter of time, supersonic travel will be available to everyone as well.

  1. At first I thought that the screens were just big holes in the side of the plane! Then I thought “Well, it wouldn’t be too safe then. You’d get sucked out!” 😛
    But then I read about the screen more and it clicked in my head. Finally.

    1. Anything can be set to display on the screen. So if it’s either day or night, passengers will be able to select what they wish to display, and they can dim the screen when they need to sleep. 🙂
